Answers to the most common questions about our vehicles, bookings, pricing, safety and coverage areas. If you don’t see your question here, please call or message our booking team.
General Booking Questions
For weddings and peak events, we recommend booking 4–8 weeks in advance
to secure your preferred vehicle and time slot. Proms and summer weekends sell out quickly,
so earlier is better. Last-minute bookings are often possible, but vehicle choice may be limited
— it’s always worth calling to check availability.

You can request a quote by phone, WhatsApp or via our online enquiry form.
Please provide your date, pick-up location, destination, number of passengers,
preferred vehicle and any special requirements (such as decorations, extra stops
or waiting time). We’ll respond with a tailored, no-obligation quotation.

We cover Essex, Hertfordshire, London, Kent, Surrey and the wider South East,

Limos in Essex operates a large in-house fleet of luxury, classic and vintage vehicles.
We also work with a small number of trusted, fully vetted partner operators
to offer additional choice at busy times. All vehicles, whether owned or supplied via partners,
are licensed, insured and chauffeur-driven by approved professionals.
Every booking includes:
- Professional, licensed chauffeur
- Fuel and mileage within the agreed itinerary
- Vehicle preparation and cleaning before your hire
- Standard ribbons and bows for weddings (colour options available)
- Soft drinks on request for adult groups
- All relevant insurance and licensing costs
Standard bookings range from 1 hour up to a full day, depending on the occasion.
Weddings typically run for 2–4 hours, including waiting time and onward journeys.
Prom bookings usually include a pre-prom cruise and arrival at the venue, with optional
return journeys. Airport transfers are priced according to journey distance and waiting time.

Our fleet covers most group sizes:
- 2–4 passengers — luxury saloons (Rolls-Royce, Bentley, Mercedes, Range Rover)
- 7 passengers — MPVs and selected classic cars
- 8–16 passengers — stretch limousines
- 16–24 passengers — party buses and coaches (where available)
Yes. Chauffeurs who transport minors for proms, school events or family bookings
are fully DBS-checked and trained in professional conduct, safety and discretion.

Yes. All vehicles — whether owned directly or supplied via trusted partners — are:
- Licensed for private hire
- Fully insured for carrying passengers
- Maintained and safety-checked to high standards
Yes, viewings are usually available by pre-booked appointment.
For vehicles supplied by partner operators, we can provide photos, specifications and example interior images so you know exactly what to expect on the day.

Wedding Car Hire
Complimentary wedding ribbons and bows are included in your hire price,
usually in white or ivory, with other colours available on request.
Floral arrangements for the rear parcel shelf or interior can be added at extra cost.

Yes. Waiting time between locations is built into all standard wedding bookings,
for example between the ceremony and reception. If you require extended waiting time
or additional stops, we can incorporate this into your quote.
Yes. Many couples choose to add extra journeys for bridesmaids, parents,
or the groom’s party. These can often be arranged at a reduced rate when booked together
with the main wedding car. Our team can help you plan the best combination of cars
and timings for your day.

Proms & Under-18 Travel
No. We operate a strict no-alcohol policy on all prom bookings and any journey
involving under-18s, in line with UK licensing laws. Soft drinks can be provided, and we ask that
all parents and passengers respect this rule.

Yes. Most prom bookings are arrival-only, with time for photos and
a short cruise before the event. Return journeys and after-prom transport can be arranged
on request when the booking is made.

Yes. Vehicles used for proms and school events are licensed for private hire,
insured for carrying minors, and driven by DBS-checked chauffeurs. We also encourage parents
to agree clear arrangements for pick-up, drop-off and supervision at the venue.

Payments, Deposits & Cancellations
Yes. A non-refundable deposit is required to secure your booking and reserve
the vehicle for your date. The remaining balance is usually due 5–7 days before the event
(exact terms will be confirmed in your booking confirmation).
We accept bank transfer, debit and credit cards, and secure
online payment links. Full details will be provided with your quotation and booking confirmation.
Our cancellation terms vary by booking, but as a general guide:
- Cancelling more than 14 days before the event — deposit retained.
- Cancelling within 14 days of the event — a higher charge may apply, up to the full balance, depending on notice given and whether the vehicle can be rebooked.
Drinks & Onboard Experience
For adult-only bookings, passengers aged 18+ may usually bring their own drinks,
where legally permitted and agreed in advance. Alcohol is not supplied by
Limos in Essex. For journeys involving under-18s, our no-alcohol policy applies.

Yes. Complimentary soft drinks can be provided on request with most bookings.
Simply let us know your preferences when you make your enquiry.
Absolutely. Most of our vehicles offer Bluetooth or AUX connectivity,
so you can play your own playlists. Some limousines and party buses also feature upgraded
sound and lighting systems. If music is important to you, mention it when booking and
we’ll match you with a suitable vehicle.

Yes. Additional stops — for photographs, collecting guests or dropping people off at
multiple addresses — can be arranged when you make your booking. Extra stops added
on the day may be possible, subject to timing and any local restrictions.
Airport & Transfer Bookings
Yes. For airport transfers, your chauffeur can provide a
meet-and-greet service in the arrivals hall, help with luggage and escort
you directly to your vehicle.

We monitor flight arrivals wherever possible and adjust pick-up times to match
your actual landing time. If there are significant delays or changes, we ask that you keep in
touch with our office so we can support you and your chauffeur.
Yes. Luggage is included, but capacity varies by vehicle.
When you request a quote, please tell us how many suitcases and bags you’re bringing,
and we’ll recommend the most suitable car, MPV or minibus.
Safety, Seatbelts & Policies
Yes. All passengers must wear seatbelts where fitted, in accordance with UK law.
Some classic or vintage vehicles may have limited seatbelt positions because of their age;
we’ll advise you if this affects your chosen car.
Yes. Children are welcome in most vehicles, provided they are correctly seated and supervised.
For younger children, we ask that you provide your own child seats where required
by law. If you’re unsure about suitability, please ask our team before booking.
If your event over-runs, we’ll always do our best to accommodate you.
Additional time beyond the agreed schedule may incur an extra charge,
depending on the vehicle and chauffeur’s availability. Wherever possible, we’ll discuss
this with you before extending the hire.
Other Questions
Yes. We can provide corporate accounts for businesses that require
regular airport transfers, executive travel or event transport. Please contact us
to discuss your company’s requirements.
Yes. We can arrange long-distance journeys and multi-day travel by prior agreement.
Tell us your itinerary and we’ll confirm availability and pricing.
Assistance animals are always welcome. Other pets may be permitted in selected MPVs
or vehicles at our discretion and must be agreed in advance.
